Profesor Ivan Kalmar z Uniwersytetu w Toronto poszukuje asystentów do swojego projektu badawczego poświęconego populizmowi i islamofobii. Research Assistant: Field Analyst

The Field Analyst will conduct field work for a project on populism and Islamophobia, led by Principal Investigator, Prof. Ivan Kalmar of the University of Toronto. The field work will consist of 1) distributing and collecting questionnaires to residents of Poland, and 2) conducting participant observation among groups of Polish residents. The groups may include members of right-wing populist organizations as well as the general public. The research will be conducted under the remote supervision of Prof. Kalmar and according to protocols approved by the University of Toronto Research Ethics Board.
The length of engagement for the Field Analyst is negotiable. An initial estimate is that the work will take 100-200 hours. The rate of compensation is €11 per hour, net.
The successful applicants will be graduate students of social science or history. Anthropology students may be preferred. They will show a sincere dedication to human rights and an interest in Polish and global society and politics. They will have an excellent command of the Polish language, and be able to communicate well in English, including writing brief reports (some editorial help will be available).

Research Assistant: News Analyst

The News Analyst (NA) will collect and report from the online media and social networks items relevant to, populism and Islamophobia in Poland. The NA will prepare a brief summary every day, and send it to the Supervisor in Canada by email. The report will be used for a research database and as material for a web site dedicated to populism and Islamophobia in Europe.
The NA will show a sincere dedication to human rights, and an interest in Polish and global society and politics. They will be a graduate student or in an advanced stage of undergraduate study. They will have an excellent command of the Polish and English language, and be able to write brief reports with ease and in good English (some editorial help will be available).
The NA must have an excellent internet connection and a good computer. They may work from home. They will work every day, for one or two hours on the average, with one day off to be chosen by the NA. The rate of compensation is €6 euro per hour for undergraduate students and €9 per hour for graduate students, net.
